Dr. Nicholas has been a licensed psychologist in private practice since 2005. She obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds a Master’s and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology/Chicago. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). In addition to University Counseling Centers, her professional background includes experience in hospital settings, outpatient clinics, and correctional facilities. She is a licensed psychologist in Illinois and a participating member of American Psychological Association (APA).

Dr. Shana Nicholas specializes in working with adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders, relationship issues, and perfectionism among others. She actively engages clients in the change process utilizing empirically supported treatment strategies including cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and acceptance and commitment therapies.
